A physical preparation programme prior to surgery. It includes two to three sessions per week designed to:

A progressive programme designed to restore mobility, strength and independence following surgery.
During the first three weeks, patients complete two sessions per week, with intensity and duration adapted to their condition. Sessions generally last around 30 minutes.
From the first month onwards, the programme can be increased to two or three sessions per week, depending on the patient’s clinical and functional progress.

A programme of two or three sessions per week adapted to the patient’s treatment and general condition.
Its objectives are to:

A maintenance and follow-up programme for patients who have completed chemotherapy and the rest of their cancer treatment.
Its aim is to consolidate the benefits achieved, maintain an active lifestyle and incorporate physical exercise into everyday life over the long term.
The programme is structured according to the available scientific evidence on the impact of exercise on quality of life, survival and the risk of recurrence in certain cancers, including studies such as the CHALLENGE trial.
For the first time in oncology, a phase III trial has shown that an intervention based exclusively on physical exercise can reduce the risk of recurrence by 28% and the risk of death by 37% in patients with colon cancer.
The process begins with an assessment by the IVOQA medical team and the physical exercise team.
During the first in-person appointment, a check-up is carried out using Technogym Check-up technology, together with a baseline and functional assessment.
Based on the results, the most appropriate plan is identified and a personalised training programme is designed. The programme is reviewed regularly according to the patient’s progress.

All sessions are individual or take place with a maximum of two people, allowing continuous supervision and enabling every exercise to be adapted to the needs of each patient.
Patients can also choose to train with a family member, helping to provide support and encourage adherence to the programme.
The gym is equipped with Technogym machines, and the programme is led by professionals with extensive experience in oncology exercise.

The programme takes place in facilities located independently from the hospital.
This location has been chosen to offer a more welcoming environment away from the clinical setting, helping to reduce the psychological impact associated with treatment and supporting patients as they gradually return to their routines.
To access any of the programmes, patients need to contact IVOQA.
Our team will coordinate the initial medical and physical assessment and arrange an in-person appointment to define the most appropriate training programme.
