What is the Institute of Advanced Surgical Oncology
The Viamed Institute of Advanced Surgical Oncology, IVOQA, was created to respond to the needs, within the private health sector, of all cancer patients seeking first-rate care.
With its central base in the Hospital Santa Elena in Madrid, it provides assistance to all cancer patients from Viamed’s 14 hospitals located around Spain, as well as international patients.
Since cancer treatment ultimately requires a multidisciplinary approach, IVOQA is made up of a team of renowned surgical oncologists who work in close collaboration with physicians from different specialist fields (medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, digestive specialists, intensivists, anaesthesiologists, endocrinologists, haematologists, psycho-oncologists, radiologists, gynaecologists, dermatologists, dentists…), rehabilitation experts, and nurses who specialise in the treatment of cancer patients.
At IVOQA we offer cancer patients exceptional surgical treatment, with minimally invasive techniques, to treat the primary tumour, but also for the treatment of liver or peritoneum metastases in advanced stages. We have a team of eminent experts in colon, rectum, oesophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, ovary, uterus and peritoneum surgery, specialists in techniques such as PIPAC and laparoscopic HIPEC.
Our cancer institute also offers patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials testing the latest cancer therapies, as part of national or international trials in collaboration with the most prestigious international institutions in the fight against cancer.
