- Director of the first and only international course on the minimally invasive treatment of peritoneal disease: laparoscopic peritonectomy, laparoscopic HIPEC, PIPAC, and ePIPAC (organized as part of the official courses of ESSO – European Society of Surgical Oncology).
- Member of the Board of Directors of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), leads the Strategic Relations Committee of the International Society for the Study of Pleura and Peritoneum (ISSPP), Member of the Cancer Prevention Committee at the European Cancer Organisation (ECO), Secretary of FESEO (Spanish Federation of Associations of Oncology), and is actively involved in the dissemination of information on peritoneal disease for both patients and professionals via social media.
- Collaborates in many international publications in first-rate scientific journals, such as Nature, on HIPEC, PIPAC, ePIPAC, international consensus meetings on HIPEC, PIPAC, and has given many talks on PIPAC at congresses worldwide and for different programs and patient associations.
- Dr. Cortés obtained her certification as an expert in peritoneal pathology at the European School of Peritoneal Surface Oncology and worked for three years in the Advanced Cancer Unit at King Khaled Hospital in Saudi Arabia.
