Therapeutic Terrace: A Space for Well-being at IVOQA

At the Viamed Institute of Advanced Surgical Oncology (IVOQA) , our priority is not only cutting-edge clinical treatment, but also comprehensive care and the humanization of the hospital environment. We understand that factors such as prolonged hospitalization, surgical stress, and the uncertainty of treatments can trigger anxiety in both patients and their families.

Therefore, we have created the Therapeutic Terrace at the Hospital Universitario Viamed Santa Elena (Madrid) : a space designed from the heart to offer an emotional and physical respite during the care process.

 

A space to disconnect and heal

Located on the rooftop of our center, this terrace offers a friendly and welcoming environment, far from the strictly clinical atmosphere. It is a place where hospitalized patients and those attending the day hospital can enjoy:

  • Unbeatable views: A unique panoramic view toward the Madrid mountains that promotes tranquility.
  • Comfortable equipment: A rest area with 70 square meters of artificial grass, sun loungers, benches with backrests, tables, and umbrellas.
  • Green and bright environment: A protected space full of natural light designed to make the treatment process more pleasant.

Much more than a rest area

The Therapeutic Terrace is an added value to IVOQA’s comprehensive care approach, allowing for the development of adapted outdoor therapeutic activities:

  • Specialized Oncology Exercise: Training sessions supervised by sports specialists for oncology patients, through individual and safe programs.
  • Psycho-oncological Support: Outdoor therapy sessions that facilitate emotional expression in a relaxed environment.
  • Functional Recovery: Improving physical capacity and quality of life in all stages of treatment and palliative care.
